In addition to her litigation experience, Sheldon spent over 2 years as a staff attorney to all 14 judges on the Kentucky Court of Appeals gaining appellate expertise. She has also practiced elder law, estate planning, and probate law.

Sheldon has spoken about and published various articles and chapters regarding trials, settlement/mediation, and medical malpractice. In February 2009, she was featured in Today's Woman Magazine.

Sheldon has volunteered her time to the Domestic Violence Advocacy Program, Legal Aid, Commonwealth Theatre Center, her neighborhood’s swim team, and to her children’s schools.

Sheldon and her husband, Chris, a fellow plaintiff's attorney, have three teenage children: Atticus, Zoey, and Samantha.
